The smell of fresh hot cross buns warming up and that glorious sound the butter makes when it starts to melt, are just some of the many things we all enjoy about the Easter period. During this taste-bud tantalising time of the year, there are a range of hazards to our pets that we should be aware of so that the long weekend we all look forward to goes to plan.
Keeping our pearly whites strong and healthy takes a lot of work. Brushing twice a day, flossing and the list goes on. Who doesn’t love a trip to the dentist twice (if we are really good) a year? Well the same goes for our fabulous felines.
As pet parents, we strive to make sure our pets are satiated, and nutritional needs met. From expensive pet food to delicious family meals, we will provide them with the best of the best if it means they will eat. While we might be under the impression that we have raised a fussy eater, there could be an underlying medical condition that is stopping out pet from eating their food.
The classic story of the incessant battle between ‘cat versus hairball’ has been one told through centuries. When we notice our cat trying to vomit out a hairball, it can be quite a sight to see and it can be stressful as we cannot help them.

The influx of all the delicious delicacies over the past couple of months, has brought us to the dreaded problem at the end of the festive season: the holiday weight gain.
Being a pet parent to a fabulous feline can be a lot of responsibility, especially when it comes to feeding them. It all starts with proper nutrition and free, ready access to H2O.
Where do we begin with nutrients for our curious canines? There are a lot of things we need to remember for our pet, vaccinations and parasite control to name a few, when it comes to food it seems like a whole new game. And it is!

Have you had a lovely Christmas and New Year? We hope you have. The festive season is always a busy time for us at Wellpets, lots of patients needing vaccination boosters before holidays, and plenty of kittens and puppies to cuddle and assist as they settle into their new homes. It’s also a period where we see an increase in clients seeking assistance for their pets who are scared of fireworks and thunderstorms.
