As we welcome spring and warmer weather we also welcome the season for nesting birds. You may now notice on your walks fledglings on the ground.
With a spring in our step, there is a new found feeling of motivation to get back into being active. We all know what comes with this change in season… hay fever. Preparation begins about a month before, ensuring we have all the appropriate medication for a sneezing symphony or irritated eyes and a packet of tissues are always on hand. However, what about our pets?
Spring is finally here; the sun is shining, the birds are chirping and it seems as if summer is nearly in full swing. While we all love the warmer weather and getting back outside for walks with our favourite furry family members, this hot weather means that parasites are out and ready to strike.

You all know the scenario: It's time for the cat's annual checkup and everyone in the house is a little wound up from the time the appointment is made. Then the day arrives and out comes the dusty old cat carrier (unused since the last visit). Your cat knows the score and starts to become anxious even before being bundled into an unfamiliar box, taken in an unfamiliar car to be put in an unfamiliar building with scents and sounds of other cats and dogs to meet an unfamiliar person who will examine them and maybe even worse! Relax, it doesn't have to be like this! At Wellpets we've always tried to be as welcoming as possible to our feline patients and we are now giving cat owners some tips on how to reduce their cats' stress levels during the vet visit.
